When can guests take part?

Every engagement has one answer to “can guests take part right now?” It is written under the engagement’s name everywhere you see it — in the engagement’s settings, in the list of engagements, on the Live board, on a room’s and a screen’s Engagements here, and on the guest’s phone. For example: “Guests can take part now · until 22:00” or “Closed now · opens tomorrow at 06:00”.

The first card of an engagement’s settings is When can guests take part?

• Always — guests can post any time, day and night. Pick this for a guestbook that runs all year. Nothing else to do.
• At set times — guests can post during the hours you set, for example every day 06:00 to 22:00, or Friday to Sunday. Outside them the phone says when it opens again; the walls keep showing photos. Hours are the venue’s local time, summer time included.
• On these dates — for a fair or a festival: open from the first day to the last. Add as many date ranges as you need.
• During its sessions — for a conference: open while the session it belongs to is live.
• While it is on a screen — open while a screen shows its QR code or a wall that picked it, closed otherwise.

Under More there is a sixth: By hand — the operator opens and closes it. Under the choice, the card shows the sentence and the next seven days as a strip, so you see the week before you save.

On the Live board, Pause holds new posts back from the walls (guests keep posting; the posts appear once you open again), Close stops posts, and Back to plan returns to the choice above. Your choice wins until you press Back to plan. A scene or a shot can also open, pause or close the engagements it shows (its Audience setting) while it plays.

A lobby can have the year-round guestbook and a Friday quiz. Photos are deleted after 30 days — or what your workspace owner set in Settings → Engagement. Each engagement can keep them for less (or more, up to the owner’s maximum) under Privacy. Every post goes once it is that old, also on an engagement that is always open. Guests are told so before they post, and a guest can take their own photo down any time from My posts or the take-home page (Take it down): it leaves the screens at once and is deleted with its keepsake.
