Walls
The sticky notes and Q&A wall and the polaroid wall — how posts arrive, piles, the question shown big, Live photos, videos, sound and captions.
A wall is a block on a scene, so it goes on any stage — the room, the lobby, a wall of screens — and you can place as many as you like. Every wall that points at the same engagement gets the same posts at the same time. A wall can also combine several engagements — a lobby wall with the photos of every session. Until you pick an engagement, a wall shows samples, so you can design it first.
Place the wall
In the shot editor, add a Sticky notes or a Polaroid wall block and size it.
Pick the engagement
Tick it under Engagements. Tick more to combine them on one wall — see One wall for the whole event.
Pick the room
Under From (Photos from on the polaroid wall), choose Every room or one room. A wall that says Not receiving posts names a room the engagement does not have — pick one of its rooms. A wall that combines several engagements always shows every room.
Sticky notes and Q&A
Notes look like real paper: a curled edge, a soft shadow, handwriting. They slap on with a little wobble.
- Show — notes and questions, notes only, or questions only.
- Display — Live: notes slap on as they arrive. Overview: notes collect quietly, and the collected set cascades in when the scene starts — good for a what you told us moment at the end.
- Layout — scatter, grid or piles.
- Notes on the wall — past this many, the oldest go into neat piles with a count, so notes never shrink to nothing. With Piles, every note goes into a few stacks, the newest on top.
- Paper and Handwriting — the pad colors (classic, pastel, neon…) and the font.
- Names and Selfies — sign notes with the guest’s name, and pin their selfie on.
The question shown big
When the operator or the presenter presses Show big on a question, every wall showing questions brings it forward. Under The picked question, choose how:
- Breaks out — it fills the whole stage.
- Floats big inside the wall — the others step aside.
Answered questions either stay, dimmed, with a tick, or leave the wall.
Breaks out: the picked question leaves the notes wall and fills the stage.
Polaroid wall
Prints with a real sheen that develop in, age a little each, and hang on the wall.
- Polaroids on screen — how many at once. The prints take turns: each gets a short, medium or long stay, new ones come first, and nobody is skipped. The seconds for each stay are set by an owner in Settings → Engagement.
- Layout — scattered, grid or one line.
- Background — none (see-through), a cork board with pins, or a painted wall with tape. Holds each print — auto, none, push pin or tape.
- Caption, Name and Selfie — the guest’s words on the strip, their name under it, and their selfie as a sticker on the corner.
What a wall shows
A polaroid wall and a notes wall choose Show moments from:
- This area — every engagement that takes posts where the screen stands: engagements of its room, and engagements whose QR places are linked to that room. One scene serves every area: each screen works out its own.
- Chosen engagements — the ones you tick, with Only from area to show one room’s posts across all of them.
- Everything — every engagement of the workspace with moments (the newest 12).
A wall on This area or Everything only shows: it never opens an engagement by being on screen.
Faces in the frame
Wunderframe finds the faces on every photo and frames the polaroid around all of them, with room for hair and raised hands — a group selfie keeps everyone, a photo with no face is framed a little above the middle. Every wall, the phone and the keepsake use the same framing. On the Live board, Adjust framing moves it by hand; Remove from screens takes a photo off every wall at once, with ten seconds to undo.
On every screen
The big wall is the guestbook. For info screens there is the Ambient polaroid: put it in the screen’s layout, and every scene on every screen with that layout gets it. Its box is a reserved spot — flights, ads and wayfinding keep running, and the spot stays empty until a new photo arrives. Then one polaroid peeks in from an edge of the box, slides up while it develops, stays a few seconds and tucks away again. It never leaves its box; the inspector warns when the box covers another block or reaches outside the safe area.
- Never noisy — at most one photo every few minutes (5 by default). When several arrive at once, only the newest shows, and nothing older than half an hour (you set both). A screen that starts, or a scene that changes, never replays the photos that already had their turn.
- The same on every panel — which photo shows when follows the clock, so the screens of a group agree.
- Quiet hours — add Quiet after 22:00 or Quiet during a session in the block’s Rules.
- What it shows — like a wall, Show moments from; it starts on This area. It only shows: it never opens an engagement.
- The tag over the print, e.g. Gerade geteilt|Just shared|À l’instant — one text per language; on a screen with several languages it turns from one to the next, a visitor’s chosen language keeps it to that one. It can add the guest’s name and where the photo was taken.
- Spotlight — under Shows as, pick Spotlight when a moment should land: the whole screen leans back a little and dims, and the polaroid comes forward in front of it, larger, then everything eases back. You choose how far it steps back, the tilt, how dark, the polaroid’s size and whether it stands in the middle or over the block’s box. The scene preview shows it; screens that cannot draw it, and screens set to reduce motion, keep it calmer — the corner, or only a soft fade.
- Make room — the polaroid takes space only while a moment shows: between moments your boards are full width; when one arrives they glide aside, the polaroid slides in, and afterwards everything returns. Put the boards and a Slot named moments in an auto layout (select them, Shift+A; the board on Fill), and in the layout give the ambient polaroid Placed into slot: moments. A Live list keeps its text size while it makes room.
Photos arriving on the screen. While a wall is on the screen, a new photo arrives as it always has: the print peeks out of the wall and slips into the cardboard. On a screen without a wall, a print slides out at the bottom of the screen while the guest's phone counts down, and the photo flies into the ambient polaroid or to the middle of the screen, big. The next scene waits until the photo has arrived, on every screen of a wall at once. Every style stays a choice per screen in the stage's Moments arriving card: automatic, the cardboard slip-in, the peek at the bottom with a flight in (also into a wall), or off — and per polaroid its corner, spotlight or make-room look.
Your logo on the prints
Logo on every print (polaroid wall) and Logo on the strip (ambient polaroid) print an image from the library small in the bottom right of each polaroid’s strip, like ink on the paper. A guest’s name moves to the left of it.
The countdown and the arrival
With Peek during the countdown on, the top edge of a polaroid rises from the bottom of the wall while a guest’s phone counts down — Peek at bottom left, center or right. When several guests are counting down at once, the peeks are fanned out or stacked.
A new photo either shoots up big in the middle and then settles, holding the middle for the seconds you set, or flies straight into its place.
Live photos and videos
- A Live photo’s clip — plays as it arrives and now and then, plays once as it arrives, or never (the still only). Clips are always muted.
- Videos play — as they arrive and now and then, once as they arrive, or all the time, looping and muted. A video stays up until it has played.
- Sound — off, new videos only, or new videos and now and then, with a Volume. One video has the sound at a time, through the screen’s own speakers, and only on stages that play sound. The editor stays silent.
- Videos on lite screens — screens too weak for the 3D wall play videos muted, or show the poster only.
Captions
With Captions on, what the guest said runs over the video as timed words. Style them: a Look (bold outline, boxed, karaoke, minimal), a Face, Where they sit, the Size, the colors of the text, the word being said and the box, and Capitals.
Loud at the party, silent in the keynote
These are settings of the wall in this scene, so the same engagement can be silent in the keynote scene and loud in the networking scene. To change them over the day, use the wall’s Rules tab. It has presets to start from:
- Networking hours: new videos with sound — from 12:00 to 14:00 and 17:00 to 20:00.
- Quiet after 22:00 — until 06:00, no video sound and Live photos stay still.
- Keynote: silent wall — while the session on this stage is live, no sound, videos play once, and a touch plays muted.
Tap or point at a print
On a stage that takes touch or hand gestures, a visitor can tap or point at a polaroid. A guest taps or points at a print: it comes forward and plays with sound, plays muted, or nothing happens. While someone interacts, videos can keep playing one after another, or behave as set above. When the visitor leaves, the wall goes back to its own settings. See People in front of the screen.
One wall for the whole event
A conference has halls and a lobby, and the lobby wall should show what happens everywhere. There are two ways to set that up.
One engagement with a room per hall
Make one engagement for the show or the workspace, and add a room for each hall — Hall A, Hall B, Lobby. Put each room’s QR code in its hall. The lobby wall shows Every room; each hall’s wall shows its own room under From (Photos from).
- One place to moderate, one set of settings, one question shown big at a time.
- It is open, paused or closed as a whole — every hall at once.
- Every post keeps the room it came from, so each hall still sees only its own.
Name the engagement’s rooms like the venue’s rooms and the halls’ printed check-in codes work too: a post sent through Hall A’s check-in code is marked Hall A. See Rooms in an engagement and Room check-in.
One engagement per session, combined in the lobby
Give each session its own engagement, from the session’s Live engagement section, and put its wall and QR code in its hall. For the lobby wall, tick every engagement it should show under Engagements — up to 12. Add all of a show’s sessions ticks the show’s own engagement and those of all its sessions in one go.
- Each session opens and closes with its session, can be paused on its own, and can have its own settings and moderation.
- Posts from all of them arrive in the order they were approved. A paused session’s new posts wait, as on its own wall, while the others keep coming.
- A question shown big on the lobby wall is the one picked most recently, in whichever session.
- A wall that combines engagements shows every room of each; From is only there with one engagement.
Which to pick
- One engagement with rooms when the event runs as one — one team moderating, open all day, the same settings everywhere, and guests who move between halls keep one set of posts.
- One per session when sessions live their own lives — each opens with its session, has its own speaker picking questions or its own moderation — and the lobby should show them all. Past 12 sessions, use one engagement with rooms, or one wall per day.
