Live polls

Multiple choice, word clouds and ratings — guests vote on their phones, the results move on every screen at once, in your event’s colors. Plus upvoting of questions.

A presenter asks the room a question, and the room answers from their phones — on the same page guests already use for notes and questions, through the same QR code. The answers build up on every screen that shows the poll: the room, a wall across several panels, the lobby — all on the same frame.

  • Multiple choice — one answer, or up to several. Bars on the screen, with letters that match the phone.
  • Word cloud — each guest sends up to three short words, one after another. The more often a word comes, the bigger it grows.
  • Rating — 1 to 5 or 1 to 10, as numbers, stars or faces. The average and the spread.

A room screen showing a multiple-choice poll with its results revealed: the question “Which session should run again tomorrow?”, four lettered answers with bars, the leader lit in yellow, 31 votes and a QR code to vote; beside it a guest phone showing “Counted” and the same results, their own pick marked.

  1. Switch polls on

On the engagement’s page, under What guests can post, turn on Live polls and choose Who runs the polls — the operator, the presenter, or either. Save.

  2. Prepare the polls

The Polls card lists them in the order you will run them. Add one, write the question and the answers, and choose whether the room sees the results live, as votes come in, or hidden until you reveal them. Each poll saves on its own.

  3. Put the results on a scene

In the shot editor, add a Poll results block and tick the engagement. Whatever poll is live follows the desk; between polls the block shows the QR code and Next question soon. On a presenter scene every session shares, tick Follow the session, as on the walls.

  4. Run them live

On the Live board (or the room’s page), the engagement shows a Polls strip: Launch, then Close voting, Reveal, Next poll. You see the votes as they come in, even while the room does not.

On the screens

The block takes the colors of the engagement’s guest page, or its own. Its shape decides the layout: side by side on a wide screen, stacked on a portrait one, columns across an ultra-wide wall.

  • Ask — the question rises in with the QR code and Vote now.
  • Live — each bar eases to its share as votes land; numbers roll. The order never changes, so labels never jump.
  • Reveal — for a poll with hidden results, the bars wait at zero with a soft pulse and the number of votes; on Reveal they rise one after another, least votes first, and the leader lights up last. Every screen reveals on the same frame.

Tap a word on the desk to take it off the word cloud. Clear takes a finished poll off the phones and screens.

One poll across a wall of screens: the answers become columns, in step on every panel.

Three screens side by side showing one poll: the question and a QR code on the first, and the answers as tall columns with their percentages across the others, the leading column in yellow.

A word cloud: the words sent most grow biggest; every screen shows the same cloud.

A screen showing the word cloud “One word for today?”: the words guests sent in a cloud, “focus” biggest and in yellow, then “inspiring” and “energy”, with smaller words around them, 21 votes and a QR code.

A rating: the average over the spread of answers.

A screen showing the rating “How useful was this session?”: a large average of 4.1 out of 5 with four yellow stars, and below it a bar for each value from 1 to 5, most votes on 4 and 5.

On the phone

When a poll goes live, the Vote tab comes to the front — unless the guest is in the middle of writing a note or taking a photo: then the phone asks first, and Later leaves a dot on the tab. A single answer goes by itself a moment after the tap, with Undo. After voting the guest sees Counted, then the results if the poll shows them on the phone. Each guest votes once; with Guests can change their vote, a new answer replaces the old one.

Upvoting questions

Turn on Guests can upvote questions under Questions. Guests then see the questions on the screens on their Ask tab and vote for the ones they want answered — one vote per question, and they can take it back. On the Live board and the presenter’s page, questions sort by votes, with the count shown.
