Photo booth
Turn a screen with a camera into a photo booth — visitors take a polaroid with their hands, under a warm flash, and take it home by QR code.
A screen with a camera can be a photo booth. A visitor points at Take a photo, agrees to the line that says where the photo is shown and when it is deleted, steps into the picture — the frame follows the faces — and holds still for 3 · 2 · 1. The screen itself is the light: a warm flash, once. The picture develops like a polaroid; Keep posts it to your engagement, Again takes another. A QR code then takes it home as the branded keepsake.
Everything is done with the hands in the air — point, bring thumb and finger together, or hold still on a button. Where the screen also takes touch, that works too.
Set it up
Give the screen a camera and hands
Under Stages, open the stage and turn on hand gestures under Visitors can use this screen. Save. The hand camera both takes the picture and lets visitors choose. A screen with only Notice people in front of the screen has a camera but no way to choose — add the touch fallback there, or the booth is not offered.
Use the screen as a photo booth
On the same stage, under Photo booth, choose Photo booth and where the photos go (an engagement). The form then says, for that engagement, when guests can take part and after how many days photos are deleted; its moderation applies to booth photos too.
Set the flash once
Warm (3200 K) is the default; Neutral and Cool or the slider set another tone, Strength how bright it gets. Test flash on the screen fires it on the real screen, so you judge the light where people stand. Visitors never change it.
Put the block on a scene
Add a Photo booth block to a scene the stage plays (or a scene its kiosk opens) and size it. It shows its title, the button, the gesture hint and — if you like — the phone QR beside it. Publish if your workspace publishes by hand. Once the screen has loaded it, the stage form confirms the block is there, or warns that it is missing.
Display only
On a stage set to Display only — or a screen without a camera, or a player app that does not do photo booths yet — the same block never opens a camera. It shows the phone QR code instead: Take a photo with your phone. So one scene serves the booth and every other screen. While the engagement is closed, the block says when the booth opens.
Privacy
- The camera opens only after the visitor chose Take a photo and agreed to the consent line, which names the screens and the days until deletion. This step is always shown; a scene cannot switch it off.
- The preview is drawn and dropped. Only the one picture a visitor keeps leaves the screen, as an upload to your engagement. Again or no answer discards it on the spot.
- The camera that follows a hand is never used for the picture, and nothing it sees is stored.
- Booth photos carry no name. Two visitors at the same booth are never linked.
- From the take-home page a visitor can take their photo down again.
Agents set it with set_stage_booth; the REST API with PATCH /api/v1/stages/{id}/booth.
