Live engagement

Guests scan a QR code and send sticky notes, questions, polaroids and short videos to your screens — no app, no login, on every wall at once.

A guest scans a QR code on a screen and their phone opens a page with your event’s colors and words. No app to install, no account, no password. From there they can:

  • Throw a sticky note — they write on the note itself, and it slaps onto the notes wall.
  • Ask a question — the operator or the presenter picks one, and it is shown big on the screens.
  • Shoot a polaroid — the phone counts down three seconds while the screens show the top edge of a polaroid peeking in; then the photo shoots up big in the middle and settles into the wall.
  • Shoot a Live photo — a polaroid that moves: the phone also records a short, silent clip around the shutter, and the print plays it on the wall.
  • Record a short video — it plays in a polaroid frame, with captions made from what the guest said. The speech is turned into text on the phone itself, and the guest can correct it before sending.
  • Vote in a live poll — multiple choice, a word cloud or a rating; the results move on every screen at once (see Live polls).
  • Play a quiz — alone or in teams, against the clock, with the leaderboard on the screens (see Quiz).
  • Say how a session was — every session asks when it ends (see Session feedback).

One engagement, every screen

An engagement is the one link behind it all: what guests may post, when they can, and what gets through. Every QR code and every wall that points at it shares it — so a note sent in the keynote hall lands on the wall in the room and on the wall in the lobby, at the same moment.

An engagement belongs to a session (one talk’s Q&A), a room (what happens there between talks), a show (the whole event) or the whole workspace. Each room of a venue has one check-in QR code, valid all day, that leads guests to whichever of these runs in the room right now — see Room check-in.

The words you will see

  • Engagement — the setup guests post to, under Run → Engagement. It belongs to the whole workspace, a show, a room or a session.
  • Room — a place in a venue (a hall, a breakout room, the lobby) with its screens and one check-in QR code for the whole day.
  • An engagement’s rooms — labels inside one engagement, each with its own link, so a wall can show only the posts from one place.
  • QR code block — the code on a screen that opens the guest page.
  • Sticky notes block and Polaroid wall block — the walls that show what guests send.
  • Guest page — the phone page, styled by a guest page design from Content → Guest pages.
  • Engagement panel — where the operator opens, closes and moderates on the Live board.
