Getting started
From an empty workspace to a story playing on a screen, in six steps.
Wunderframe is organized the way the work goes: you create what screens show, plan where and when it plays, and run it live. The app bar has one area for each, and this guide walks through all three with the smallest thing that plays: one story on one screen.
Before you start
Sign up with your email address. Wunderframe creates a personal workspace for you straight away, so there is nothing to set up before your first story. Everything you make — stories, scenes, stages, media — belongs to that workspace.
Six steps to a playing screen
Add a venue and a stage
A venue is the place — a hotel, a campus, an office — with its time zone; schedules and clocks follow it. Add one under Venue → Venues. A stage is a screen you play to at that venue: a TV in the lobby, a projector, a kiosk or a video wall. Open Venue → Stages, give it a name and a location, and pick its shape — landscape (1920 × 1080), portrait (1080 × 1920), square, a custom size for one screen (such as 3840 × 1080 for a 32:9 bar), or a video wall made of several panels that show one picture. Also choose what happens when a shot has another shape: fit inside with black bars, fill and crop, or stretch.
Create a story
A story is what a screen plays: scenes in order, on a loop. Open Content → Stories and create one — “Lobby loop” is a good first name. The story opens on its chapter list.
Add a chapter and design it
On the story, choose Add chapter. Wunderframe makes the scene and its first shot (one canvas moment) and takes you straight into the editor. Place blocks on the canvas — video clips, captions, stills and widgets — and arrange them on the timeline below, with tracks for overlays, the main picture, voiceover and music. A new block goes on a track that is free at its time, so blocks never pile up on one track, and it simply appears; pick an entrance such as a fade in its settings if you want one. Editing is local until you press Save.
Order the story
Back on the story, add more chapters or reuse existing scenes from the scene library. Drag to reorder, and open Playback order for per-story options such as how long each shot holds.
Book it on the call sheet
The call sheet is the weekly routine. Open Venue → Call Sheet and book your story on your stage for a time window — for example weekdays, 07:00 to 19:00.
Play it and check it live
Open Run → Live. The live board shows every stage, what it plays right now and why. To put it on the real screen, copy the stage’s Player link on Venue → Stages and open it in the screen’s browser — or pair the Android TV app with the code it shows.
Where to go next
- Core concepts — how stories, scenes, shots and layouts fit together.
- Schedule and go live — run an event day with shows, cues and the live board.
- Screens and players — real screens, video walls, offline play and device monitoring.
- Presenters and sessions — bring remote speakers onto your screens.
- Templates and data — one design, many screens, values from your systems.
